In general, Yoga is a practice or discipline that helps unite body, mind, and heart through a sequence of postures or “asanas”. The asanas are held for a period of time and coordinated with the breath. Each yoga class addresses each part of the body and incorporates pranayama (breath control), relaxation and meditation. Yoga is a direct experience of the vast interrelatedness of all life and of all things. You will feel at peace at the end of a yoga class because there is a natural realignment of your body, which leads to a natural realignment of your perception of life and of who you are.
Yoga is much more than the study and practice of physical alignments and breath. If you stay with yoga long enough, you will find out that who you are, is not just your body, and not just the conversations in your mind. Through steady practice, you will appreciate the interconnectedness of all beings leading to more tolerance and compassion toward others and yourself. Yoga is about the experience of transformation. It will take you beyond the mundane survival level and into a whole new appreciation of life.
Genuine yoga will change your life, your habits, your body, your health, your mind, your breathing patterns, your attitudes, and your outlook. Yoga is about learning from direct experience and developing wisdom of how your body works most efficiently. You will learn how your conscious and unconscious mind can either support or harm you, and then later, naturally, a deeper wisdom gets revealed.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the foundation for all yoga styles. It is easy to learn: incorporating postures, breathing, meditation, movement and energy. Guided mindful breathing techniques, grounded full-bodied movement, affirming mantra, prayer and meditation skill-building all cultivate a substantial sense of well-being over time. The slow motion, awareness-focused approach builds strength and awakens innate grace. Class movements are sequenced into routines, which include postures synchronized to the breathing along with energetic body-centered awareness. Students’ commitment to an ongoing routine is an ideal way to practice stress reducing physical exercise while revitalizing and calming the body, mind and spirit.

Gentle Yoga – All Levels : This class is held at a slower pace and is designed to help students stretch tight muscles and loosen stiff joints areas of the body while releasing physical, energetic and emotional tension through relaxation. This class is ideal for anyone wanting to work on stress-release, strengthening, flexibility, balance – gradually and comfortably.
Hatha Flow: Energize and strengthen your body in this Hatha Flow class, combining movement and breath through a harmonious and playful sequence that will unfold and open your body to allow the free flow of energy, increase the heat in your muscles, expand your lung capacity and raise your heart rate. The asanas will be timed in that the movement and breath are fluid, with each posture flowing into the next, linked together with a series of movements called a Vinyasa. The beauty of this class is that the sequence, or ‘flow’ can be different in each class, but always focused on awakening energy. Class will wind down with rest and relaxation. *some yoga experience suggested
